unsatisfied...

If I find in myself a desire which no experience in this world can satisfy, the most probable explanation is that I was made for another world. If none of my earthly pleasures satisfy it, that does not prove that the universe is fraud. Probably earthly pleasures were never meant to satisfy it, but only to arouse it, to suggest the real thing.

happy anniversary to my friend!

This is my dear friend Andrea.
Today is a special anniversary...
a sad one
yet a joy-full one, too.
One year ago today,
Andie traded in her earthly home for her heavenly one.
The sadness...
for those of us who knew and loved her
and had to say "good-bye"
far too early...
The joy...
for she who has now enjoyed a year of celebration in heaven...
dancing, laughing, singing,
"hanging out" with Jesus
and worshipping the Father with the angels!!
What an amazing thought!

We miss you, Andie!

But we rejoice with you... and can't wait to see you again!

heaven and earth...

The true object of all human life is play.

Earth is a task garden;

heaven is a playground.

~GK Chesterton

I can't wait to get to heaven to do the "playing" part!! No pain. No sorrow. No heartache. No anything except amazing joy in the very presence of God! What anticipation, what enthusiasm for heaven this brings to mind and heart!

But for the next couple of days, I shall make a small earthly attempt at the "play" part, as I'm off to Palm Springs for the weekend with some friends! Have a great weekend everyone! May you find a small taste of heaven in your play...
