faux fall leaves...

Well, it wasn't too long ago that I welcomed autumn on my blog... September 22nd, to be exact. But, with the way the weather has been playing tricks on us here in Southern California, it has been feeling much like summer still. Fall has been "faking us out" with its cool fall nights but still summery days, and, I've discovered another little bit of trickery going on around here lately...
these sneaky trees!! These trees have been joining in the fall festivities by proudly displaying bright fall colors.

But, unlike in cooler climes, these are not leaves turning with the season...
Nor are they are flowers on the tree, as was my second thought...
These beautiful "faux fall leaves" are actually brightly-colored seed pod casings!
I love the way the look like colored fall leaves, and they definitely fooled me the first time I saw one of these flaming trees!

I was amazed at the striking red amidst the green leaves and had to move in much closer to investigate....
Lovely, aren't they?!
...and so very, very sneaky decked out in their faux fall finery...
God is so amazingly creative!

  1. Sharilyn dear, thank you for showing us the lovely colors of fall. Aren't they lovely... The trees here are still rather green. Is it still blowing hot and cold there? Do be wary of colds.

It's been sometime, and I'm glad that I visit my friends leisurely again. Hugs...
