celebrate the Sabbath... in song...

Blessed Be Your Name
--Matt & Beth Redman
Blessed be Your name in the land that is plentiful
Where Your streams of abundance flow,
Blessed be Your name

Blessed be Your name when I’m found in the desert place

Though I walk through the wilderness,

Blessed be Your name Every blessing You pour out,
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in,
Lord, still I will say:
Blessed be the name of the Lord,
blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord,
blessed be Your glorious name

Blessed be Your name when the sun’s shining down on me
When the world’s “all as it should be,”
blessed be Your name
Blessed be Your name on the road marked with suffering
Though there’s pain in the offering,
blessed be Your name

You give and take away, You give and take away

My heart will choose to say,

“Lord, blessed be Your name”

Every blessing You pour out,
I’ll turn back to praise
When the darkness closes in, Lord, still I will say:
Blessed be the name of the Lord,
blessed be Your name
Blessed be the name of the Lord,
blessed be Your glorious name

I'm reminded again, to praise and bless the Lord in good times and bad,( something I tend to fail to do so when things go wrong ). Thank you for sharing this beautiful devotion, surely, it is escalated to the Lord and He is pleased. =) Bless you...

  2. I sing this song often at my church. And my kids sing it in their Sunday school classes too. It is a song that helps me remember that God is in all the details of my life, ready to have me turn to Him in praise, no matter the circumstance, because we are transformed through each experience we go through--positive or painful.

  3. Stardust, i think we all struggle with trusting when it's hard, but He is still faithful to us! i love the line that says "my heart will CHOOSE to say..." that's what it's all about!

Jenna, you are absolutely right about the transforming of our hearts/minds/souls ...God truly uses all our circumstances to draw us nearer to Him! i love that He is in the midst of all parts of our lives...
